The Brattleboro Police Department received reports about an individual asserting that he was both a police officer and a security officer.
A Brattleboro resident has been cited for falsely claiming to be a police officer. On June 7, the Brattleboro Police Department received reports about an individual in the downtown area asserting that he was both a police officer and a security officer for the town.
Upon investigation, authorities identified the individual as Benjamin Thomas, 27, who was found to lack any certification as a police officer and was not employed by the town in any capacity. Following this revelation, he was issued a citation to appear in court at a future date.
