Friends Launch Fundraiser for Munsonville Teen Hurt in June Route 9 Rollover

The fundraiser was organized the day after the crash by Jackson Yager and other friends who wanted to reduce the strain on Howard’s family while he heals.

A GoFundMe campaign has been started to help 18-year-old Carter Howard of Munsonville as he continues recovering from serious injuries suffered in a rollover crash in Keene on June 20. Friends say the money is intended to help Howard’s family manage medical costs and other expenses during what they expect will be a lengthy recovery period.

Howard was driving a 1997 Jeep Wrangler when it went off Route 9 east of the Route 10 intersection and overturned, according to Keene Police. He was thrown from the vehicle and was the only person inside. He was first taken by ambulance to Cheshire Medical Center and later flown by helicopter to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon for additional treatment.

The crash shut down Route 9 for about 3½ hours while the Keene Police Department’s Collision Analysis Team investigated. Police have said speed is believed to have played a role, and the case remains under investigation.

The fundraiser was organized the day after the crash by Jackson Yager and other friends who wanted to reduce the strain on Howard’s family while he heals. The campaign’s goal is $20,000, and supporters are being asked not only to donate if they can, but also to circulate the link through social media and personal networks.

Howard’s family has asked that details about his current condition remain private. Friends say he is still facing a long recovery and is being supported closely by relatives, who have expressed appreciation for the concern, prayers and assistance from the community.
