Keene residents invited to review Robin Hood Park Phase II plans

City officials said the discussion will focus on Phase II of the park renovation effort and will include an update on ideas now being considered.

A public meeting is set for Sept. 15 to gather comments on the next stage of work planned for Robin Hood Park, giving Keene residents and park users a chance to help shape the project before design advances further.

The session will run from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room at the Keene Parks & Recreation Center. It will be led by the Parks & Recreation Department, the Robin Hood Park Steering Committee and CHA Solutions.

City officials said the discussion will focus on Phase II of the park renovation effort and will include an update on ideas now being considered. The city is looking for feedback on which elements should move forward as planning continues.

Among the features under review are new inclusive playground equipment, a multi-sport court, more parking, a program building with public restrooms, and improvements to the existing pavilion that would add space for gatherings. The list also includes an accessible fishing dock, a nature play trail and other park upgrades.

The Robin Hood Park project is being handled in stages. Phase I, which centers on the park pool, is currently out to bid through the city’s Purchasing Office.

Officials are urging anyone who uses the park, along with other interested residents, to attend and share ideas about how the space should develop. They said the comments collected at Tuesday’s meeting will help the project team decide which proposals matter most to the community.
