According to a Vermont State Police news release, a trooper from the Westminster Barracks pulled over a vehicle at about 5:15 p.m. The driver, Alex Raymond, 20, of Keene, N.H., and a passenger, Wayne Griffis, 67, of Brattleboro, are accused of giving false information to officers.

Authorities said two other people in the car, Lorenzo Ward, 30, of Higganum, Conn., and Maria Saez, 26, of Madison, Conn., face charges including fentanyl trafficking, possession of 2 or more grams heroin, providing false information to police and conspiracy.

Police transported all four occupants to the Westminster Barracks for processing. Ward and Saez were later lodged at the Southern State Correctional Facility and given criminal citations ordering them to appear in court on Tuesday.
