State responders used a Black Hawk helicopter from the N.H. Army National Guard on Friday to evacuate a hiker suffering a serious medical problem on Mount Monadnock, according to N.H. Fish and Game.
The emergency began near the upper junction of the white dot and white cross trails at about 1:20 p.m., when crews were dispatched to help Thomas LaValley, 49, of Carlisle, Pa. Officials said they believed his condition was potentially life-threatening.
