The sequence began around 8:30 p.m. Saturday, when Dublin police began following Waycotte’s vehicle.
Police said a Jaffrey man was arrested Sunday morning after a vehicle pursuit ended at a home on Old Hancock Road, where he remained inside through the night before giving himself up.
Andrew Waycotte, 40, faces felony counts of burglary and reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, along with misdemeanor charges of disobeying and resisting arrest, according to a Peterborough Police Department release posted to Facebook. He was held in custody and was expected to be arraigned Monday at the 8th Circuit Court District Division in Jaffrey.
The sequence began around 8:30 p.m. Saturday, when Dublin police alerted Peterborough officers that a Dublin officer was following Waycotte’s vehicle and that it had entered Hancock. Police said the vehicle then stopped in the driveway of a private residence, after which Waycotte did not comply with orders and went inside, where he barricaded himself.
Peterborough officers assumed control of the scene and established a perimeter. With assistance from the Keene Police Tactical Team, they were able to communicate with Waycotte and bring the incident to a close. He surrendered at 6:42 a.m. Sunday.
Authorities did not say what led to the pursuit, whether anyone else was in the vehicle, or whether other people were inside the home. Police in Dublin, Hancock and Peterborough were not immediately available Sunday to answer questions.
Peterborough and Hancock fire and rescue crews responded to the scene, and police from Greenfield, Hillsboro, Jaffrey and Marlborough, along with N.H. State Police, also provided support.
