State police are now handling an inquiry connected to Claremont Mayor Dale Girard, his wife and at least one other person after a roadside incident in the city.
Claremont police first became involved after a report came in on Oct. 7, but officials have shared only limited information about the circumstances. Because of a potential conflict of interest, the case was later transferred to state police.
Girard also serves as a state representative.
