A collision on Route 9 in Searsburg resulted in the death of a man from Massachusetts on Tuesday morning. The incident involved Alan Vautrain, a 53-year-old from Ludlow, who was heading east when he veered into the lane of oncoming traffic. As a result, he collided with a vehicle driven by a 72-year-old man from Wilmington. Emergency responders confirmed that Vautrain did not survive the impact and was pronounced dead at the scene. Fortunately, the other driver sustained only minor injuries.
