Newfane ATV crash leads to arrest of local man

The charges include DUI #4, Reckless Endangerment, Negligent Operation and Cruelty to a Child.

 

An ATV accident near Loop Road on Saturday evening left two people hurt and led to charges against a Newfane man, according to Vermont State Police.

 

Troopers were sent to the scene at about 6:15 p.m. and later determined that Paul B. Mason, 60, had been operating the vehicle when it crashed. A juvenile passenger was also injured in the incident.

 

Investigators said they found indications that Mason had been impaired. He was taken into custody and brought to the Westminster Barracks for additional processing.

 

Police later released Mason under conditions and gave him a citation requiring a court appearance today Monday. The charges include DUI #4, Reckless Endangerment, Negligent Operation and Cruelty to a Child.
