Officials are steering voters away from mailing ballots through USPS because delivery timing remains uncertain.
Vermont’s secretary of state said Thursday that 88,000 voters in the state had already returned early ballots.
Among municipalities, Saint Albans Town is leading participation so far, with nearly one-third of its active registered voters already voting. The other places near the top of the list are Middlebury, Williston, Barre Town, and Shelburne.
The office also noted an unusual statistic tied to first names: 42% of active registered voters in Vermont named Arlene have already cast ballots.
With Election Day set for Tuesday, Nov. 3, officials are steering voters away from mailing ballots through USPS because delivery timing remains uncertain. They are instead urging people to hand them in at a town clerk’s office, place them in a secure drop box, or vote at the polls.
